Yankees’ Juan Soto Predicted to Sign $569 Million Deal With AL Contender
All eyes are on outfielder Juan Soto, waiting to see what he decides to do for the next decade-plus of his MLB career. Will the 26-year-old re-sign with the New York Yankees? Or will he be convinced that packing his bags and playing for his fourth big-league team is a better idea?
Whichever team lands Soto will get a generational player heading into the physical prime of his career. Across seven seasons, he’s already been named an All-Star four times while winning five Silver Slugger Awards, one batting title, one Home Run Derby title and the 2019 World Series with the Washington Nationals.
Soto was a key reason behind the Yankees reaching the Fall Classic for the first time since 2009. Recently named an American League MVP Award finalist, the left-handed slugger hit .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs, 31 doubles, 109 RBI and 128 runs scored in 713 plate appearances in 2024.
Pairing Aaron Judge with Soto did wonders for the Yankees’ lineup. But can they convince Soto to call the Bronx home for what could be the remainder of his career? Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller thinks it will happen. He’s predicting the outfielder will stay with the Bombers on a 13-year, $569 million pact.
“Projections for Soto’s contract have gotten downright ridiculous over the past few months, with some suggesting he could fetch north of $700 million, even without any of the deferrals that made Shohei Ohtani’s deal with the Dodgers possible,” he said. “However, most rational, non-clickbaity folks with sources have suggested something in the $41-$44 million AAV for more than 10 but less than 15 years. And, well, $43.77 million annually for 13 years could work there.”
