YouTube Star Jack Doherty Arrested Filming New Video
YouTube personality and influencer, Jack Doherty, known for his controversial, prank-style video content, has been arrested by Miami Beach Police for drug possession and other charges after he was caught dangerously blocking traffic while trying to film his latest social media video.
Why it Matters
Doherty’s arrest highlights growing concerns about influencer stunts that disrupt public safety. With nearly 3 million Instagram followers and over 15 million YouTube subscribers, Doherty’s actions could influence impressionable fans to imitate similar, dangerous behaviors, potentially leading to criminal charges.
The 22-year-old influencer’s previous videos have titles including “I crashed into a cop car.”
Newsweek has contacted the Miami Beach Police Department and Delka Talents, the agency which represents the social media influencer, for comment.

What To Know
Doherty was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, in Miami Beach after allegedly entering a roadway and obstructing traffic to film a video. According to arrest documents obtained by CBS News Miami, Doherty ignored several police officers, who asked him to exit the road, warning he’d be arrested if he failed to comply with their orders.
Upon his arrest for “deliberate refusal to follow lawful orders and continue to obstruct traffic,” officers then found “half of an orange oval-shaped pill with 3 imprinted on it, consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine, as well as a black plastic container holding three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes weighing approximately 4.0 grams combined.”
Doherty faces charges of possession of a controlled substance (identified as amphetamine), possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence. Miami Beach Police has confirmed a bond for his release was set at $3,500. According to reporting by the New York Post, public records indicate that this bond has since been paid.
What People Are Saying
According to CBS News, Miami Beach Police said: “The Miami Beach Police Department remains steadfast in its commitment to maintain public safety and order throughout the city—regardless of celebrity status. The department will continue to take proactive enforcement action against behavior that endangers residents, visitors, or officers and will hold all individuals accountable under the law.”
Newsweek has been unable to verify the veracity of the video.
What Happens Next
Doherty could face formal charges in Miami-Dade County, although official court dates have not been made public yet, and his representatives and legal counsel have not issued public statements regarding the charges.
