Bills QB Josh Allen Speaks Out Boldly About ‘Tush Push’ Controversy

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has become one of the best at his position in the NFL. In fact, he is fresh off of a 2024 season that saw him win the MVP award.

While Allen won the biggest individual award a player can win, he was unable to accomplish his ultimate goal. Allen wants to win a championship for the Bills. His team came up just short of accomplishing that goal.

Unfortunately, Buffalo was able to knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. The Bills are hoping to take the next step and get into the big game in 2025.

Ahead of training camp getting underway, Allen spoke to the media and addressed a controversial situation.

During the course of the offseason, there was a big push from multiple teams to ban the “Tush Push” play that has been made famous by the Philadelphia Eagles. Plenty of teams voted in favor of banning the play, but there weren’t enough to pass.

With that being said, Allen has now weighed in with his thoughts on the “Tush Push.” He is not in favor of the NFL taking the play out of the game.

“I’m a big believer in if you can’t stop it, keep running it, right? I think that there’s a few teams that do it better than others, but then you look at a few teams that try to do it, and it doesn’t have the same success,” Allen said.

“Just because a couple teams do it better than others, I don’t feel like it should be banned. I understand the merit of what it brings… But I feel like if you can use it to your benefit, use it to your benefit. If you don’t like it, my advice is to stop it.”

Allen makes a good point. No team has been able to find a way to consistently stop the play yet.

All of that being said, Allen and Buffalo are widely viewed as one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the league heading into 2025. The Bills have plenty of talent and enough to win it all if they play to their full potential.

It will be interesting to see what the upcoming year has in store when it comes to the “Tush Push” and whether opposing defenses come up with new plans to stop it.
