Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Addresses Major Jaguars Controversy Ahead of Matchup
The Kansas City Chiefs are currently 2-2, and the team is starting to look like its normal selves again after a rough start to the 2025 season. Now, they are set for a big game against the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Jaguars have made headlines plenty due to San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh accusing the Jaguars’ head coach and staff of “sign stealing.”
Essentially, the accusation is that the Jaguars staff figures out their opponent’s hand signals or “signs” so they can get an advantage during play. The result of this accusation led to a tense moment between Saleh and Cohen.
With the Chiefs set to take on the Jaguars, Patrick Mahomes addressed the controversy, downplaying the idea that the Jaguars are doing anything questionable.
When speaking to reporters, Mahomes stated he doesn’t understand the controversy behind the accusation levied against Cohen and the Jaguars.
“I honestly don’t understand. We switch signals like every single week. I have no idea, honestly. It’s something I don’t necessarily understand, but we will make sure to switch our signals., I guess,” Mahomes said.

Mahomes also stated that the Chiefs switch their signals every week due to the games being on TV and opponents attempting to figure out what they are doing anyway.
“We switch signals every single week knowing that the game is on TV and teams watch that. We try to make sure that we’re interchanging that stuff so they can’t get a beat on what we’re trying to do,” Mahomes added.
It sounds like Mahomes and the Chiefs are not concerned with the Jaguars potentially being able to learn their signals, as they change them every week anyway. Saleh did state after the game with the Jaguars that he was merely attempting to compliment Cohen, though it did not come out in that manner.
For the Chiefs, they will continue to do what they do every week, which is to come away with a victory. Should they take down the Jaguars, they will have three consecutive wins under their belt.
