Woman Takes Pregnancy Test After Horse Acts Strangely, Shocked at Result

A woman noticed her horse acting differently while she greeted him with her baby in her arms, but looking back now, she realized the animal was trying to communicate to her about what was to come in the future.

In Oakley’s March 20 TikTok video posted to her account @theweenwrangler, she held her baby as the two pet the family horse, Suds. The 25-year-old horse gave them hellos by sniffing them, although it was short-lived. He immediately put his head down near Oakley’s stomach, inspecting her belly with more sniffs. Suds pulled his head back up and gave her a side-eye.

After rewatching the video, Oakley suspected Suds was onto something, as he had been before with her first child. She decided it was time to take a pregnancy test.

To her surprise, two blue lines formed a cross on the test: She was pregnant.

Oakley joked in the caption of her TikTok video that “Suds was an OBGYN in his past life…”

“He did the same thing when I was pregnant the first time!” she told Newsweek. “I was not having any feelings to take a test again until he did that!”

This wouldn’t be the first time an animal has found out about a pregnancy before its humans did. Animals can detect subtle changes in humans that accompany pregnancy, such as mood, posture, behavior and body chemistry, according to a paper published last month by the Environmental Literacy Council.

Their highly developed senses can pick up on these shifts that oftentimes go unnoticed by humans. Animals can sense a pregnancy through hormonal fluctuations, which lead to a change in body odor. Humans can detect the change in smell, but not as easily as animals.

Animals can also spot behavioral and physical changes, such as a woman’s posture, walking habits, changes in diet or energy levels, and even a slight body temperature rise. In the later stages of pregnancy, they can often hear a heartbeat and notice a growing baby bump.

The TikTok video, which has reached over 541,400 views and 108,400 likes as of Monday, stunned viewers.
