Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Uses Kermit Meme To Celebrate AFC Championship Win
The Kansas City Chiefs are on the way to the Super Bowl after their tight 32-29 AFC Championship victory over the Buffalo Bills last night and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated in the most understandable way possible.
With a Kermit the Frog meme.

Mahomes has long been the subject of jokes about his unique voice, with many fans humorously comparing him to Kermit the Frog. Embracing the fun, Mahomes even joked about it during last year’s Super Bowl media day.
Fast forward to this season, and Mahomes kicked things off by facing more Kermit-related taunts—this time, the rival Las Vegas Raiders had a little fun of their own. At the start of training camp, the Raiders were seen carrying around a Kermit the Frog puppet dressed in a Mahomes jersey and sporting a wig that mimicked the quarterback’s signature curly hair.
When asked about it during a press conference, Mahomes didn’t take the bait too seriously, responding with his usual calm: “Yeah, I mean, it’s still early in the year. Stuff like that happens. It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”
As the season progressed, Mahomes once again showed that he’s no stranger to playful mockery.
After the Chiefs’ dramatic 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, which secured their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance, Mahomes took to X with a message for all the doubters, haters, and those who had poked fun at his voice. In true Mahomes fashion, he posted the iconic meme of Kermit sipping tea, paired with the words: “I’ll see y’all in New Orleans!”
The meme, which has become a symbol of nonchalant victory over critics, perfectly encapsulated Mahomes’ response to all who bet against him.
Now, with the Chiefs heading to their third straight Super Bowl and aiming for an unprecedented three-peat, Mahomes’ lighthearted response to the Kermit jokes has come full circle.
From early-season ribbing by the Raiders to a third Super Bowl appearance, Mahomes continues to prove that he’s as resilient as he is good-natured. And as he said, “Stuff like that happens”—and when it does, Mahomes takes it in stride, showing everyone that it’s just part of the game.
