Colts’ Sauce Gardner Has Strong Message for Upset Fans After Jets Trade

Earlier this week, the New York Jets made a shocking trade to send star cornerback, two-time All-Pro Sauce Gardner, to the Indianapolis Colts. The deal netted the Jets a trade package including first-round picks in the next two NFL drafts and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.

It was a big move for the Jets, and although they unloaded one of their defensive stars, it brought them plenty in return. For Gardner, it sent him to a team headed for a postseason run, something the Jets have no chance of achieving given their dismal record.

While many Colts fans may have celebrated the move to bolster their defense, at least a few Jets fans were extremely distraught upon learning that Gardner had been traded. A video filmed by a father as he informed his two young sons about the Jets-Colts trade went viral, racking up 6.3 million views.

In the video, one of the young boys immediately begins stomping his foot, screaming, and bawling his eyes out after hearing that Gardner would no longer be on the Jets. Amid his sobs, he soon revealed he was switching his allegiance to the Indianapolis Colts.

That viral video caught the Colts’ and Gardner’s attention. The newest member of Indianapolis’ roster appeared in a special TikTok video, sharing a message for the distraught Jets fans.

“What’s going on, Bryce, Trey. Just want to say I appreciate y’all for the support. With that being said, I’m gonna be giving you all two of my first Colts jerseys

In the Colts’ video, the extra special gesture also included Gardner autographing the football jerseys for his young fans.

Bryce and Trey appeared on “Good Morning America” earlier on ABC, where they spoke about still supporting Gardner. One kid said he would now support the Colts as his team, while the other said he wouldn’t give up on the Jets.

Asked whether they would go to see Gardner play in an NFL game, they said it would depend on whether their father took them.

Gardner’s gesture arrives as he prepares for his first game with his new team. The Indianapolis Colts face the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday’s international NFL game —the first ever to be held in Berlin. Indianapolis is coming off its second loss of the season, as they were taken down by 27-20 in Week 9.
